Mary J. Roman, Ph.D.  offers evaluations of children,  adolescents, and adults with cognitive, emotional, and/or behavioral difficulties.

Patients have included individuals with learning disabilities, attention disorders, developmental disabilities, psychiatric illnesses, and neurological conditions. A goal of her work with children is to identify their cognitive strengths and weaknesses and to provide a comprehensive set of recommendations to assist them in their home and school functioning.

Dr. Roman provides the following clinical services:

Evaluations of cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning and academic achievement in children and adolescents.

—For example, Dr. Roman can conduct evaluations of children and adolescents with attention disorders, learning differences, autism spectrum disorders,  head injuries, and seizure disorders.

Evaluation of potential attention disorders in adults.

—Dr. Roman can evaluate adults who think they may have an Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder.

Evaluation of cognitive difficulties in adulthood.

—For example, Dr. Roman can conduct evaluations for dementia and for cognitive consequences of head injuries and other neurological disorders.

Cognitive Behavioral Intervention for Tics (CBIT).

—Dr. Roman can work with children and adults who have Tourette Disorder to reduce tic symptoms and tic-related impairment.
